Chromecast is a device that you plug into your TV's HDMI port, powered by a USB cable. Using your smartphone or supported device as a remote control, you can use Chromecast to access video content from our TekSavvy TV App.
Plug Chromecast into HDMI port on TV, and into wall outlet
Ensure proper input is selected to the HDMI port that the Chromecast is plugged into on the TV.
On your mobile device, ensure Bluetooth is enabled.
You will next navigate to app store to download Google Home app.
Setting up Google Home
Welcome home - Click Get Started
Choose account – Plaese sign into their google account
Location Access – Click Next
Allow Location Access - If selected to allow access it will search for your Chromecast
ChromeCast Found – Click
See the code on your tv, you will be asked to confirm that the code is the same on the TV as it is on the mobile device. Confirm code and click Yes.
Help improve Chromecast - you will be asked to Help Improve Chromecast this is a customer preference, Yes or No
Pick a Room – Choose which room the Chromecast will be in
You will now connect to your wifi network name and click Next
Wifi network that the Chromecast is connecting to must be the same as the network the mobile device is connected to!
Linking Chromecast – click Continue
Before using your Google Assistant – Scroll down click Next
Link video services – click Next
Link radio services – click Next
Stay in the know - this is a customer preference
Your room is ready – click Continue
Now access the TekSavvy TV app on your mobile device.
From here, the main screen opens, and there are several icons across the bottom: Home, Live TV, On Demand, Recordings and Settings. In the top right corner, you must click Cast button and then select the device name you just chose for the Chromecast. As soon as you pick something to watch it will start casting to the TV and stop playing on the mobile device.
