For any VDSL packages this modem will not work.</h3><h2 data-id="quick-set-up">Quick set up</h2><ol><li>Navigate to the modem's interface. <em>(</em><a href="http://192.168.1.1" rel="nofollow noreferrer ugc"><em>http://192.168.1.1</em></a><em>)</em><ul><li><strong>NOTE:</strong> Default username and password are <em>admin</em>.</li></ul></li><li>Click on <strong>Quick Setup</strong> on the left side.</li><li>Make sure <strong>DSL Auto-Connect</strong> is checked, then click <em>Next</em>.<ul><li><strong>NOTE:</strong> The modem will scan for the <strong>VPI/VCI</strong>. If the scan is unsuccessful you have to configure manually(for AB & BC the <strong>VPI / VCI is 0/33</strong>) (steps are further down).</li></ul></li><li>Enter your DSL username and password</li><li>Make sure <strong>Retry PPP password on authentication error</strong> is checked, then click <em>Next</em>.</li><li>The modem will verify the PPPoE authentication.</li><li>Now the modem will want to setup the DHCP information, just click <em>Next</em> unless we need to change the IP address to make sure there is no IP conflicts between the modem and router using the same default IP.</li><li>Click <em>Save/Reboot</em> on the <strong>Summary</strong> page.</li></ol><h2 data-id="advanced-routed">Advanced Routed</h2><ol><li>Click on <strong>Advanced Setup</strong> on the left side.</li><li>Remove any pre-existing interfaces that are there.</li><li>Click on <em>Add</em>.</li><li>Enter in the correct <strong>VPI/VCI</strong> settings, then click on <em>Next</em>. (Ontario & Quebec 0/35, Alberta & British Columbia 0 / 33)</li><li>Choose <strong>PPP over Ethernet (PPPoE)</strong> for routed setup.</li><li>Enter your DSL <strong>username</strong> and <strong>password</strong>.</li><li>Make sure <strong>Retry PPP password on authentication error</strong> is checked, then click <em>Next</em>.</li><li>Make sure <strong>Enable NAT</strong> and <strong>Enable Firewall</strong> are both checked, then click <em>Next</em>.</li><li>Then click on <em>Save</em>.</li></ol><h2 data-id="advanced-bridged">Advanced Bridged</h2><ol><li>Click on <strong>Advanced Setup</strong> on the left side.</li><li>Remove any pre-existing interfaces that are there.</li><li>Click on <em>Add</em>.</li><li>Enter in the correct <strong>VPI/VCI</strong> settings, then click on <em>Next</em>.
