Broadband dialers allow a PC to connect to our DSL service by performing the required PPPoE authentication session.
Windows XP
- Go to the Control Panel.
- Click on Network Connections. (Classic View)
- Click on Create a new connection. (Found in the sidebar under Network Tasks)
- Click Next. (Welcome to the New Connection Wizard)
- Select Connect to the Internet, then click Next.
- Select Set up my connection manually, then click Next.
- Select Connect using a broadband connection that requires a user name and password then click Next.
- Enter TekSavvy as the customer's ISP Name. (This step is optional)
- Enter the DSL user name and password into the User name, Password, and Confirm password fields, then click Next.
- Click Finish.
Windows Vista
- Go to the Control Panel.
- Click on Network and Sharing Center. (Classic View)
- Click on Set up a connection or network. (Found in the sidebar under Tasks)
- Select Connect to the Internet then click Next.
- (If prompted) Select Set up a new connection anyway.
- Select Broadband (PPPoE).
- Enter the DSL user name and password into the User name and Password fields.
- Check the Remember this password box.
- Click Create.
- Click Close.
Windows 7
- Go to the Control Panel.
- Click on Network and Sharing Center. (Classic view)
- Click on Set up a new connection or network. (found under Change your networking settings)
- Select Connect to the Internet then click Next.
- (If prompted) Select Set up a new connection anyway.
- Select Broadband (PPPoE).
- Enter the DSL user name and password into the User name and Password fields.
- Check the Remember this password box.
- Click Connect.
- Click Close.
Windows 8 & 10
- Go to the Control Panel.
- Click on Network and Sharing Center. (Classic view)
- Click on Set up a new connection or network. (found under Change your networking settings)
- Select Connect to the Internet then click Next.
- (If prompted) Select Set up a new connection anyway.
- Select Broadband (PPPoE).
- Enter the DSL user name and password into the User name and Password fields.
- Check the Remember this password box.
- Click Connect.
- Click Close.
OSX
- Click on the Apple symbol. (Found in the top left corner of the screen)
- Click on System Preferences.
- Click on Network.
- Click on Ethernet.
- Click on the Configure IPv4 drop down list and select Create PPPoE Service...
- Enter TekSavvy as the Service Name then click Done.
- Select the newly created TekSavvy or PPPoE Service option listed in the left side bar.
- Enter the DSL username into the Account Name field.
- Enter the DSL password into the Password field.
- Check the Remember this password field.
- Click on Apply.
- Click on Connect.
