A new IP should be generated once it reconnects. If you have a Static IP you must request a change from an agent.

Cable Internet

We do apologize, but the IP address cannot be changed as it can be on DSL. It is assigned via a 3rd party in blocks and we have no way of requesting a new one to be pushed. You can attempt the following steps. Keep in mind they are not guaranteed to work. We also do not provide any compensation in the matter if they do not work.

The first step is to Release and Renew your IP.

Windows: In your command prompt type ipconfig /release and press enter

Next type ipconfig /renew and press enter

Mac: Apple button > System Preferences > Network > Ethernet > Advanced > Renew DHCP Lease

If you still receive the same IP address, please plug directly into your modem and remove the router in full. If you are using a combination unit, bridge the modem. Unplug the modem from the power and coax cable for 5 minutes. Then start by only plugging in the power and waiting for the modem to reboot. Then plug back in the coax cable and check your IP address. If it is still the same please push and hold the factory reset button on the back of your modem for 15 seconds.

The last step you can attempt is unplugging your modem from the power and coax cable for a full 24 hours.

If your cable modem is only a modem (not a combination modem and router), you may also be able to have the cable system assign a new IP address by having your router utilize a different device ID to send to the modem. You would need to check your router instructions; this is often listed under MAC cloning.
